Mischa Barton
Barton is a British-American actress who is employed in the cinema in television, theatre, and film. At the Lincoln Center in New York City Barton made her debut on stage in Tony Kushner's Slavs! Also, she played the primary character in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actress with a brief cameo and a brief appearance in All My Children. She also voiced characters in Nickelodeon's animated series KaBlam! Between 1996 and 1997, she was the voice of an character on the Nickelodeon animated TV show, KaBlam! In 1997, she played the lead role for the film Lawn Dogs alongside Sam Rockwell. The film was her debut big acting role. There were several notable appearances in films in films like M. Night Shyamalan's thriller about psychological issues The Sixth Sense (1999) and romantic comedy Notting Hill (1999). Additionally, in 1999 she appeared as a character in the crime-thriller by an independent company called Pups. Barton also starred as Rachel Wood's girlfriend in ABC's Once and Again 2001 and the independent drama Lost and Delirious (2002). For her role as Marissa Cooper on the Fox Television series The O.C. in 2003-2006 the actress was honored with two Teen Choice Awards. Barton was rated the "It girl for 2003" by Entertainment Weekly because she played Marissa Cooper's role. Barton acted as a protagonist in the Richard Attenborough-directed film Closing the Ring as well as in the comedy Saint Trinian's assassination of an ex-high school president and Assassination of the President. In 2009 she was back on TV, in the CW program The Beautiful Life that Ashton Kutcher was producing.
